Tilcotil is supplied as scored tablets, suppositories and powder for injection.
Active ingredient
Tenoxicam.
Tilcotil is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of the following painful inflammatory and degenerative disorders of the musculoskeletal system:
- rheumatoid arthritis;
- osteoarthritis;
- arthrosis;
- ankylosing spondylitis;
- extra-articular disorders, eg tendinitis, bursitis, periarthritis of shoulders (shoulder-hand syndrome) or hips, strains and sprains;
- post-operative pain.
Tilcotil tablets and suppositories are also indicated for:
- acute gout;
- primary dysmenorrhea.
Each scored tablet and suppository contains 20mg of tenoxicam. Each 20/40mg vial contains 20/40mg of tenoxicam respectively.
Excipients
Tablets: lactose, maize starch, talc, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, titanium dioxide and iron oxide yellow.
Suppositories: hard fat, propylene glycol stearate, polyoxyl 35 castor oil.
Powder for injection: mannitol, ascorbic acid, disodium edetate, sodium hydroxide solution 10%, tris(hydroxymethyl)amino-methane (tromethamine), hydrochloric acid 1N; sterile water for injections.
Appearance
Tablet 20mg: ochre, oval with bevelled edges, measuring 12mm by 6mm. Roche printed on one side and a break bar on the other.
Suppository 20mg: light yellow to yellow, oval.
Tenoxicam 20mg and 40mg injections: a green-yellow cake-like substance (lyophilisate) in colourless glass vials.
